Goals for the week
By end of week one you should have:- All accounts active and tools installed
- One 1:1 with your manager
- Introductions with your immediate team
- A rough picture of current priorities
- A project to focus on in week two
Recommended schedule
Day 1 — Finish the first day checklist. Day 2-3 — Team intros. Book 20-minute slots with each direct teammate. Ask what they’re working on and what slows them down. Day 4 — First 1:1 with your manager. Come with questions. A useful framing: what does success look like at 30, 60, and 90 days? Day 5 — Reflect. Write down what you learned, what’s still unclear, and what you want to tackle first.Things worth reading this week
- Meet the team — org chart and team context
- Company handbook — code of conduct, expense policy, remote work expectations
- Your department’s section in this KB — Engineering, Product, Design, etc.
